The Hunt For Tinnitus Cure

Things About Tinnitus You Should Know About

Tinnitus is a condition where we hear an unusual or abnormal noise coming from within our ears. Tinnitus noise is not a constant 24 hours condition but could also come on and off intermittenly for sufferers.

Common Symptoms Of Tinnitus

The main one is basically the noise we hear from within our ears. It can come in the form of a buzzing, ringing, hissing or whistling sound most commonly but may appear in various other forms as well.

How To Diagnose Tinnitus

The best thing you should do is to first consult a professional otologist (Ear Specialist) and let them examine your condition. The doctors will then find out about your past and any medication you have been consuming.

They will then perform a standard ear examination with an otoscope to access the condition of your ear drums. The purpose to to check for any scarring or inflammation and also if the ear drums are moving or in tact.

They will usually then proceed to check on your eyes as well as this could also cause tinnitus to surface for some sufferers.

You may even be required to undergo a MRI scan to let the doctors identify any structural damages that be present within the ear.

Lastly, you would have to also undergo a audiogram test to see how well you can hear and recognise different sounds in order to accurately determine your cause of tinnitus.

Live Goes On With Tinnitus

Some sufferers chose to just live with tinnitus but they will have to learn how to live with it while not letting it interfere with our daily lifestyle. It will not come easy as many usually suffer from depression because of their tinnitus condition.

Some methods to ease these pains include:

Avoiding places with loud music or noises as these can further damage your ears.

Ensure good rest and good dose of exercise sessions. Basically its about taking on a healthy lifestyle approach to avoid aggravating your tinnitus condition.

Watch your food intake or diet. Caffeine is known to increase the tinnitus symptoms as well as salt. So if possible limit your intake of these 2 items in your daily diet.

Types of Cures

There are many different approach to curing tinnitus and they vary from acupunture, medication and use of hearing aids as well.

But I alwasy believe in application of natural remedies if available for any illness that I may be suffering from. That is where I have recently come across a remedy called  “Tinnitus Miracle” created by an ex sufferer named Thomas Coleman.

He adopts the use of holistic natural remedies and cure methods to relief and treat tinnitus. I adopted the approach myself and rid myself of my tinnitus problems of many years in 8 weeks. Only practical advice is given and not theory that you often see and read in books and medical journals about tinnitus.

Well try it and see how it will work out for you. Besides since its a natural cure it will do you no harm but only good. Let it work miracles for you and stop hearing those noises in your ears. Trust me it feels good when you get there.

Can anyone advise on the use of sonarx for tinnitus relief?

I have severe tinnitus in my left ear and have yet to find anything which will relieve it. I have extreme difficulty in sleeping at night.

Hi John,

There are many views, reviews and counter views on SonaRx and T-gone which make these products look dicey. They may be helpful also!! But their ingredients were difficult to find on the net. Don’t know why?

Otherwise, some of the most common herbs used for tinnitus cure are

• Ginkgo Biloba is excellent for a number of cerebral and circulatory disorders. It is probably the most widely-used herb for tinnitus and many sufferers swear by this natural ingredient.
• Rosemary dilates and strengthens blood vessels and is an excellent circulation tonic. Rosemary is particularly useful for tinnitus that is caused or worsened by high blood pressure and other circulatory conditions.
• Avena Sativa is effective in reducing high cholesterol levels which can contribute to circulatory problems which cause tinnitus.
• Wild Hyssop s also useful in reducing pain and inflammation.
• Salicylic Ac. (30C) is indicated for tinnitus with loud roaring or ringing sounds, which may be accompanied by deafness or vertigo. This remedy is particularly useful in people whose symptoms began with a bout of flu, Meniere’s disease or long-term use of aspirin.

Good Luck!

Tinnitus cure can anyone endorse any that really produces results.?

It is just frightening to watch my friend struggling to cope with the ringing in her ears! The tinnitus isn’t the worst of it though, because she battles to fall asleep her overall health is also starting to suffer. It seems to me that because she is so tired and anxious, she can’t sleep for long and always seems to catch every sickness that is going around. Can this be related to her tinnitus? I am looking for a tinnitus cure urgently.

i think i was told by my chiropractor to take vitamin b6 for this, he said i had fluid behind my ears…wahtever that meant, i took b6 and it did help.

how do you cope with meniere and tinnitus?

My father has been suffering from both but mostly from tinnitus. Is there a real cure for tinnitus?

Drugs or Vitamins
‘Audio Therapies’ Or Costly Medical Treatments
Dangerous Surgery

I looked for a natural way,and found an ebook who helped me reduce my ringing to the point it doesn’t matter anymore.
Small "tweaks" to your lifestyle can end your tinnitus.

What is the best medicine for balance disorders,I think its related to the inner ear because I have tinnitus.?

I need to know what is the best medicine for balance disorders and I think its because of Meniere’s disease because of tinnitus.
Thank you

Treatment
There are various options for treating balance disorders. One option includes treatment for a disease or disorder that may be contributing to the balance problem, such as ear infection, stroke, or multiple sclerosis. Individual treatment will vary and will be based upon symptoms, medical history, general health, examination by a physician, and the results of medical tests. Most types of balance disorders will require balance training, prescribed by a physiotherapist.

[edit] BPPV
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is caused by misplaced crystals within the ear. Treatment, simply put, involves moving these crystals out of areas which cause vertigo and into areas where they do not. A number of exercises have been developed to shift these crystals. The following article explains with diagrams how these exercises can be performed at the office or at home with some help: [3] The success of these exercises depends on them being performed correctly.

The two exercises explained in the above article are:

The Brandt-Daroff Exercises, which can be done at home and have a very high success rate but are unpleasant and time consuming to perform.
The Epley’s exercises[3] are often performed by a doctor but can be performed at home. Various devices are available for home BPPV treatment. [4]

[edit] Ménière’s disease
Diet: Dietary changes such as reducing intake of sodium (salt) may help. For some people, reducing alcohol, caffeine, and/or avoiding nicotine may be helpful. Stress has also been shown to make the symptoms associated with ménière’s worse
Drugs:
Beta-histine (Serc) is available in some countries and is thought to reduce the frequency of symptoms
Diuretics such as hydrochlorohyiazide (Diazide)have also been shown to reduce the frequency of symptoms
Aminoglycoside antibiotics (gentamicin) can used to treat Ménière’s disease. Systemic streptomycin (given by injection) and topical gentamicin (given directly to the inner ear) are useful for their ability to affect the hair cells of the balance system. Gentamicin also can affect the hair cells of the cochlea, though, and cause hearing loss in about 10% of patients. In cases that do not respond to medical management, surgery may be indicated.
Surgery for meniere’s disease is a last resort

Is it safe to listen to music on my stereo? I have tinnitus?

I have tinnitus from listening to loud music through headphones for years. I’ve stopped listening on the headphones, but I was wondering, if I listen to music a couple hours a day on my stereo (with the sound at regular volume), will I irritate my tinnitus or lose my hearing?

I also wanted to mention that I have no hearing loss yet, only tinnitus.

Irritate tinnitus – yes. Lose your hearing – no (qualified). Here’s the qualifier: You said yourself, "I have no hearing loss YET (emphasis added)." I am married to a sweet, 35 y.o. man who is hard-of hearing because he listened "to loud music through headphones for years" just like you. Age he stopped listening that way: 22. Age he started losing his hearing: 26. Listening to your stereo at a ‘normal’ volume without headphones is not likely to cause any additional hearing loss that you are not already ‘headed for’, so to speak. Who knows, you may get lucky and keep your hearing. I hope you do. (p.s. My DH had tinnitus before he lost any hearing…and still has it.)

Can a person go crazy or whatever with tinnitus?

For the past 15 years now I have had tinnitus or ringing in the ears which seems to be getting worse. Are there any known cures for tinnitus?

Tinnitus can pose such a problem for the sufferer that surgery is done to cut a nerve to relieve the ringing in one’s ears but, you would lose your hearing. That is a serious decision. Control your sodium intake and consumption of alchohol as it can contribute to the severity of your tinnitus. Some may disagree but, since my husband has been mindful of his sodium intake it has helped. Use a machine that creates white noise. Check with your doctor also to see if you have menierres disease or hearing loss. Sometimes these conditions are also associated with tinnitus. My father and husband both have these conditions and they are bothersome. Good Luck.

How can I sleep well with constant loud tinnitus? White noise doesn’t work because the affected ear is deaf?

I’m 21 and for 5 years have had extremely loud constant tinnitus in my right ear due to Meniere’s Disease. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep for literally ages. I don’t hear very well out of my right ear, though my left ear is normal.

So I was wondering if maybe, possibly, it might be possible to have a better sleep without sleeping pills? and HOW ? :|

thanks so much

I occasionally get ringing in my ears and I take a low dose of asprin. Have you talked with your doctor about finding an alternative? Tried sleeping with the tv on low volume? Maybe a fan to get the rhythm going in your head. I dunno, I feel for you, I know when I have it temporarily it’s annoying, I couldn’t imagine all the time, but I would definitely try your doctor or even go to an ear, nose and throat specialist.

Can sinus infections cause Tinnitus to worsen?

And if so, once the sinus infection is over, does the Tinnitus go back to normal? Or does it stay worsened?

if your ears are blocked by the sinus infection then yes your tinnitus will worsen. Also if you can’t hear as clearly due to blockage maybe the tinnitus may seem louder because it is one sound that can get through clearly.

as long as there is no lasting damage to your ears from the infection it should go back to normal. take decongestants, and pop your ears regularly to keep the air pressure as stable as you can.
